The 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

WITH just over a month to go until the 2014 Oscars, Hollywood awards season is in full swing and the stars were out in force for the annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. On the red carpet, asymmetrical shoulders, thigh slits and shoulder baring frocks were some of the night’s biggest trends alongside the stars’ ongoing love affair for colour.

Sparkle. Jennifer Lawrence, Claire Danes, Sofia Vergara brought the glamour to the red carpet in their sparkly embellished gowns.

Asymmetric Shoulders. Amy Adams, Julia Louise Dreyfus and Emilia Clarke gave credence to the one bare shoulder trend’s staying power.

Menswear. Sure, a tuxedo isn't as as flashy as a designer gown or expensive jewels but these guys clean up real nice.

Thigh Slits. The Downton Abbey girls – Laura Carmichael and Michelle Dockery were in accordance with their leg flashing split gowns along with Camilla Alves.

Long Sleeve Gowns. With shoulders on display, Oprah Winfrey, Helen Mirren and Patricia Arquette went for the head to toe covered up look.

Off The Shoulder. Jennifer Garner led the pack when it came to shoulder baring at the SAG Awards.

Colour. With Lupita Nyong’o in aqua blue Gucci, Sandra Bullock in Emerald green Lanvin and Amy Adams in Cobalt Antonio Berardi, the SAG Awards red carpet was certainly not short of colour.
