Paris Haute Couture: Fall/Winter 2013.
Slits. Slits on dresses and gowns brought the sexy and sassy to couture shows.
From L-R: Alexandre Vauthier, Bouchra Jarrar, Atelier Versace and Zuhair Murad |
Couture Coats. These ranged from fur to coat dresses a times covering the most pretty of frocks.
From L-R: Alexandre Vauthier, Armani Prive, Jean Paul Gaultier and Valentino |
Branch Out. A couple of houses uprooted the bright and breezy blossoms that have ran through the Resort 14 for a more subdued, somewhat edgier take on flora: branch and stem motifs.
From L-R: Yiqing Lin, Zuhair Murad, Maison Martin Margiela and Valentino |
Pockets. Hands were kept warm and cosy with small and oversized pockets on dresses, gowns, coats and pants.
From L-R: Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier, Bouchra Jarrar and Yiqing Yin |
Sheer Beauty. Sheers are regular on the trend circuit and its staying power is its versatility.
From L-R: Armani Prive, Valentino, Giambattista Valli and Stephane Rolland |
Shimmer. Couture collections are nothing without their bit of shine and shimmer to light up the place.
From L-R: Elie Saab, Christian Dior, Giambattista Valli and Stephane Rolland |
Long Sleeves. Sleeves were long and lean on coats, dresses and jackets.
From L-R: Stephane Rolland, Zuhair Murad, Armani Prive and Ulyana Sergeenko |
Asymmetric At the Neck. A trend noticeable through fashion week season, necks were asymmetric on dresses, jumpsuits and tops.
From L-R: Zuhair Murad, Iris Van Herpen, Alexandre Vauthier and Elie sAAB |
Peplum. Small and over-sized at some couturier houses, peplum defined waists on skirt suits and gowns.
From L-R: Jean Paul Gaultier, Giambattista Valli, Christian Dior and Georges Hobeika |
Knee- Length Dresses. Amidst the floor length sweepers, knee length dresses were frothy adding the girly touch to couture.
From L-R: Georges Hobeika, Elie Saab, Yiqing Yin and Chanel |
