summer/spring 2014 penchant for decadent metallics proceeded to make its way onto various red carpets after being one of the biggest trends on the Grammys red carpet. Cate Blanchett stunned at the AACTA Awards in a Givenchy spring 2014 gown, Halle Berry hit up the Acapulco Film Festival in an All Saints LBD with metallic mesh pannels and coordinating silver heels. Rihanna was all business in her Lanvin spring 2014 ensemble with gold metallic pumps for her MAC cosmetics collaboration promotion while Gwyneth Paltrow shimmered in salmon pink Prada at the Golden Camera Awards in Berlin. .
While every possible colour enjoyed a metallic makeover this season, it was sharp, sour tones that proved the most desirable. Poisonous greens, vicious pinks, petrol blues and claret reds take shimmer into darker territory, lending a dangerous glamour to the summer/spring rainbow.
