Nudes. A spectrum of nudes dominated the red carpet – Cate Blanchett in Armani, Jessica Biel in Chanel, Naomi Watts in Calvin Klein Collection, Julie Delpy in Jenny Packham and Sarah Paulson in Elie Saab.

Off The Shoulder. Strapless gowns were quite popular with Dior darling Jennifer Lawrence in red, Kerry Washington in grey Jason Wu, and Lady Gaga in white Versace couture.

Shades Of Blue. Nominees Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock and Lupita Nyong’o topped best dressed lists in their shades of blue – Navy Gucci, Midnight Alexander McQueen and eggshell Prada.

Menswear. Jared Leto, Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Seacrest all made best dressed male in their white tuxedo jackets while Kellan Lutz and Jeremy Renner switched up the classic black tuxedo with Kellan Lutz in velvet and Jeremy Renner in white bow-tie.

Ladies In Black. Anne Hathaway in Gucci, Anna Kendrick in J. Mendel, Charlize Theron in Dior, Emma Watson in Vera Wang and Olivia Wilde in Valentino were edgy in classic black.
