The 2014 Oscar Awards.

Sunday night’s 86th Annual Academy Awards otherwise known as Oscars were the culmination of Awards season with a guest list unrivalled by any other event – and 2014 was no exception.
This is the night the world’s biggest stars step out in fashion’s most beautiful gowns. And these are some of the trends that were on the red carpet.

Nudes. A spectrum of nudes dominated the red carpet – Cate Blanchett in Armani, Jessica Biel in Chanel, Naomi Watts in Calvin Klein Collection, Julie Delpy in Jenny Packham and Sarah Paulson in Elie Saab.

Off The Shoulder. Strapless gowns were quite popular with Dior darling Jennifer Lawrence in red, Kerry Washington in grey Jason Wu, and Lady Gaga in white Versace couture.

Shades Of Blue. Nominees Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock and Lupita Nyong’o topped best dressed lists in their shades of blue – Navy Gucci, Midnight Alexander McQueen and eggshell Prada.

Menswear. Jared Leto, Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Seacrest all made best dressed male in their white tuxedo jackets while Kellan Lutz and Jeremy Renner switched up the classic black tuxedo with Kellan Lutz in velvet and Jeremy Renner in white bow-tie.

Ladies In Black. Anne Hathaway in Gucci, Anna Kendrick in J. Mendel, Charlize Theron in Dior, Emma Watson in Vera Wang and Olivia Wilde in Valentino were edgy in classic black.

Plunging Necklines.

The Cannes film festival 2013 red carpets were all filled with celebrities taking the plunge in deep, plunging necklines letting it be known that spring is all about going low. Cara Delevigne braved Cannes parties wearing a jacket with a plunging neckline. When it came to Heidi Klum, Paz Vega and Milla Jovovich, there was simply a case of too much cleavage on the red carpet.

Outside of Cannes, Jennifer Lopez showed up at the Billboard music awards in a plunging gold sequin Zuhair Murad frock with the sheer skirt sprinkled in glitter, Heather Graham and Lea Michele have all been spotted in dresses with plunging necklines.

The Golden Globe Awards 2013.

Award season teed off with the Golden Globes to celebrate the best in Television and Movies. Top actresses upped their game with custom-made gowns from top fashion houses which made for a red carpet drenched in style. These are some of the Red carpet trends at the Golden Globe Awards.

Red. Definitely the color of the night, the red carpet competed with Zoey Deschanel, Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard amongst others decked out in red gowns.

Sparkles. Forever a girl’s best thing, Jennifer Lopez, Kaley Cuoco, Lea Michele and Isla Fisher lit up the red carpet in their sequins and beads encrusted gowns.

Plunging Necklines. Sexy was the name of the game  for Kate Hudson, Katherine Mcphee and Amy Poehler whose necklines were not only revealing but plunging.

Lace. For Megan Fox, Eva Longoria, Amanda Seyfried and Giuliana Rancic, the intricate details on their gowns were told in form of lace.

Dark Colors. It being fall, colors on the red carpet were dark and rich from Naomi Watts burgundy gown, Taylor Swift in plum purple to Salma Hayek's black gown.
