Pre-Fall 2014-15

 Pre-Fall presentations have been going on from the various fashion houses as a prelude to the  Autumn/Winter fashion week runway shows around which happen to be around the corner. Here's what to look forward to in the next Autumn/Winter and summer/spring collections.

Embroidery. Sleek glamour was trimmed with embroidery that jingled at Oscar De La Renta, Dennis Basso and Naeem Khan.

Layering. Chloe, Michael Kors and DSquared2 pre-fall 2014 presentations were predominantly layered with sweaters, pea-coats, fur vests coats.

Tweed. Rich, earthy tweeds were the basis for skirts, pants, coats and rompers for Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Rachel Zoe and Akris.

Pleats. From wide to knife like, pleats made a strong statement at Donna Karan, Chanel, Michael Kors and Givenchy.


High-Low Hems. A monique Lhuillier staple, Prabal Gurung, Alberta Ferretti and Antonio Berardi made them their focal point for pre-fall 2014.

Lace. Alberta Ferretti, Monique Lhuillier and Badgley Mischka worked lace to mimic tattoos into sleeves whilst it came in form of skirts at Burberry Prorsum and Jason Wu.

Fur. Tops, stoles, coats and skirts were trimmed with fur at Givenchy, Ports 1961 and Balenciaga.

Wide Leg Pants. Whether low slung or high at the waist, wide leg trousers and pants remain one of the biggest trends to look out for spring 2014.

Leather. A runway staple that is no longer restricted to Autumn/Winter collections, leather formed skirts, moto jackets, and pants at Prabal Gurung, Jason Wu and Louis Vuitton.

Fringing. Chanel, Valentino and DSquared2 made a strong case for fringe trimmed ensembles when it came to pre-fall 2014.
