White Gowns.

It’s the thread that’s running through Hollywood. White gowns are dominating the red carpet and parties lately. Emma Watson side stepped the little black dresses and made a big statement in a white halter neck Ralph Lauren Gown at the London premiere of Noah as did Shailene Woodley smoldered who in a long sleeve gown embellished with gold chains by Zuhair Murad at the Berlin premiere of Divergent. Naomi Campbell attended the amFAR Inspiration gala in a fringed Givenchy gown, Hayley Atwell in DSquared2 for the Olivier Awards in London and Ellie Goulding wore Giorgio Armani with side cut - outs to the 2014 MTV Movie Awards.

A slinky white gown is a right of passage for any true A Lister at the moment.

Boxy Clutches.

Take your outfit from drab to fab with something small, boxy and  foxy. The box clutch is a style staple. A red carpet theme, all the celebrities are ditching their shoulder straps for hard cased clutches. Emma Watson and Jennifer Connelly both held box clutches to different premieres of Noah: Emma Watson at the New York premiere and Jennifer Connelly to the London premiere of the movie. Hayley Benett wore head to toe Louis Vuitton autumn/winter 2014 complete with the mini Louis Vuitton trunk as a clutch as did Miranda Lambert and Sheryl Crow at the recent 49th Academy Of Country Music Awards. From funky finishes to simple surfaces, the box clutch is in.

Dark Florals.

From L-R: Alberta Ferretti, Hermes, Marni, Dolce and Gabbana and Dries Van Noten

Florals discover a heart of darkness when scattered across a sombre black background. Here the sugary romance of pastel hues is abandoned and lush blooms take on a sensual, hothouse glamour as Maggie Gyllenhaal demonstrates in her Dries Van Noten midi. Kristin Davis, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Miranda Kerr, and Emma Watson all eschewed the sweetness and light floral prints for something a little darker. Now that the pattern has gone from sweet to edgy, be sure to see some of Hollywood’s tougher girls wearing it soon.
